Hello, I’m
Wendy.
I’m a primary teacher, qualified SENCO and inclusion leader with a background in charities and fundraising. I like understanding what matters to people and working things out together.

What I love about teaching
What I love most about teaching is getting to know the children, especially those who haven’t found school easy. Finding out what makes them laugh, what worries them and what helps them feel they can be themselves takes time, but it’s a part of the job I really enjoy.
There’s plenty of laughter and sometimes tears too. Some days are hard, and we don’t always get it right first time. But seeing a child begin to trust you, join in or have a go at something they’ve been afraid to try means a great deal to me.
My route here
My career has taken me through charity leadership, business development, primary teaching and school leadership. I’ve led teams, raised and managed multimillion-pound grants and worked with businesses to fund programmes. I’ve learnt a lot about bringing people together, making difficult decisions and finding a way forward when money is tight.
In schools, I’ve established specialist provision within a mainstream primary, led reading interventions and developed training for teachers and teaching assistants. As an inclusion leader, I know that advice needs to work in a busy classroom, with the time, people and resources you actually have.
Teaching and learning sit at the heart of a school, but keeping it thriving takes more than that. Schools are having to rethink how they use their space, support changing needs, build partnerships and make their budgets work. That means making changes, sometimes difficult ones, and helping people understand and feel part of what comes next.
Both parts of my career shape how I approach these challenges, with care for the people involved and a practical understanding of what it takes to make an idea work.
I am currently developing my freelance work as a trainer and facilitator, supporting professional learning through NPQs and apprenticeships.

Working with me
I like helping people work things out, whether that’s supporting a child, talking through a leadership challenge or turning an idea into engaging training.
I’ll listen, ask questions and offer an honest view. We can challenge each other’s thinking, while recognising that you know your school, your team and your situation best.

Let’s talk
You don’t need to have it all worked out before you get in touch.
